The role of linear damping for explosive instabilities

  • Published:
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics B Aims and scope

Abstract

It is shown that conservation laws of energy and momentum contain often sufficient information on various weakly nonlinear interactions. The changes in the temporal development of an explosive instability or its stabilization due to the linear damping of the interacting waves are discussed in more detail.
