Abstract
The paper describes the way a dislocation network affects the course of plastic strain in Fe-Si. It is found that the dislocation network causes a decrease in elongation, a faster — relative to strain in recrystallized material — growth of the density of dislocations, and susceptibility to twinning.
On the basis of experimental evidence, an attempt is made to establish a relation between the dislocation network, the dislocation barrier of Friedel, and twinning.
