Abstract

The gamma ray spectrum of128Ba +128Cs has been studied by means of a lithium-drifted germanium detector. Thirty new transitions have been found. Several regions of the conversion-electron spectrum have been studied by means of a beta spectrometer with a resolving power of 0.12% and coversion lines K 965.5 keV and K 1134.8 keV have been observed for the first time. In a proposed scheme of excited levels of128Xe new levels 2356 keV and 2474 keV have been introduced. The electron-capture branching ratios as well as the corresponding logft values have been determined. An analysis of the spins and parities and a classification of the128Cs and128Xe levels are given.
