Additional information

Note: It has come to the author's attention that an allusion to the principle of reversibility in connection with thin dielectric films has already been made by F. Dow Smith, [4]. So far as can be judged from the short abstract, the material presented by Smith may be coincident with the first section of this paper. The amplitude coefficients, however, do not seem to have yet been derived in the way of Sect. 2.
