Abstract

Problems of heat conduction in stratiform infinite and semi-infinite bodies form a group of problems which is of interest both from the physical and from the mathematical point of view. The direct solution of a number of such problems, using the corresponding Fourier transform, meets with considerable mathematical difficulties and it is often advantageous to apply a special artifice. The present paper gives an example of such a procedure in the case of a semi-infinite composite plate with a particular arrangement of the different parts.
