A study of the “Resonance conditions” in accelerating clusters of plasma in an external magnetic field

Abstract

The paper investigates the physical significance of the so-called “resonance conditions” in accelerating plasmatic clusters between parallel conductors in a strong transversal magnetic field [1]. The problem of acceleration is generally formulated by the Lagrange and Hamiltonian functions and Lagrange and Hamiltonian equations. It is shown that an external constant magnetic field does not supply energy during acceleration but only regulates the use of energy from a discharge condenser. The conditions, under which the parameters of the circuit can be found for optimum acceleration of the plasmatic cluster without a complete solution of the equations of motion, are studied.
