On infra-red divergence in quantum electrodynamics

Abstract

The paper examines the cancellation of infra-red divergence in the perturbation theory of quantum electrodynamics. The prescription for the cancellation of the infra-red divergence, in the interaction energy of an electron and electromagnetic field is given to all orders of perturbation theory. It is shown that the magnetic moment of electron computed to an arbitrary order of perturbation theory is not dependent on the mode of regularization of divergent integrals in the infra-red region.

Исследуется возможн ость устранения инфр акрасной расходимости в теори и возмущений квантовой электроди намики. Выведен метод для устранения инфракра сной расходимости из энергии взаимодейст вия электрона с элект ромагнитным полем с учетом радияц ионных поправок какого-либо порядка. П оказано, что выбор мет ода регуляризации интег ралов в инфракрасной области не влияет на р езультат расчета маг нитного момента электрона в л юбом порядке теории возму щений.
