The share of thermal energy taken from the surroundings in the electro-luminescent energy radiated from ap-n junction

Abstract

It is shown that a part of the energy radiated during electro-luminescence produced by the passage of current in the forward direction in a p-n junction is taken from the surroundings in the form of heat. The possibility of using this phenomenon for cooling purposes is considered.
