Tolerance to the mydriatic effects of morphine in mice

Summary

When injected to mice, opiates produce mydriasis. Animals treated chronically with morphine, developed tolerance to the mydriatic effects of morphine. The degree and consistency of the response make the pupil a valuable tool in opiate research.
