Abstract
The results obtained clinically with a new circular stapling clamp for end-to-end, end-to-side, or side-to-side anastomosis are described. This clamp is especially indicated for esophagogastric, esophagojejunal, esophagocolonic, or enteroenteral anastomoses. The instrument creates an anastomosis that is held by a double, staggered row of stainless steel wire staples. It is extremely easy to use, saves time and, creates better anastomoses than those achieved with hand suturing.
