World Journal of Surgery Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

A safe technique of catheterization by surgical denudation of the internal jugular vein is presented. Through a radiopaque silicone catheter, total parenteral nutrition can be infused for more than 2 months. This vascular access avoids the risks of the blind punctures such as pneumothorax or arterial punctures.
