Summary

Family cohesion in the Common Cranes decreases steadily throughout the wintering season in the Iberian Peninsula. The increasing feeding efficiency of the yearlings allow them to be progressively more independent of their parents. As a rule, the juveniles depart towards the breeding grounds after the adults.
