Summary
Research on orientation is highlighted by the discovery of the sun-, star-, and magnetic compasses with many additional details, vector navigation with many details, and the concept of map and compass. German researchers contributed considerably to these accomplishments. The navigation problem still awaits final solution.
Zusammenfassung
Zu den Glanzlichtern der Orientierungsforschung, zu denen deutsche Forscher wesentlich beigetragen haben, zählen die Entdeckung von Sonnen-, Sternen- und Magnetkompass jeweils mit vielen wesentlichen Einzelheiten, Vektornavigation mit vielen wesentlichen Einzelheiten und das Karte-Kompass Konzept. Das Navigationsproblem ist noch nicht vollständig gelöst.
