Summary

The antibacterial in-vivo-activity of sisomicin in white CF1 mice was tested in comparison to gentamicin (mice protection test). The animals were infected with various bacterial strains (E. coli, Proteus spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Serratia marcescens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staph. aureus), and then treated with sisomicin or gentamicin respectively. The results show that sisomicin is on the average more efficient than gentamicin by the following factors: against Serratia marcescens 1.3, Proteus spp. 1.9, E. coli 2.0, Klebsiella pneumoniae 2.4, Staph. aureus 2.5 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa 3.2.
