Summary

A case of septicaemia and meningitis caused byNeisseria mucosa var,heidelbergensis in a severely handicapped and retarded 5-year-old girl is reported. The infection was successfully treated with antibiotic therapy. It is presumed that the portal of entry of the causative agent was the inflamed nasopharyngeal mucosa.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über einen Fall von Sepsis und Meningitis durchN. mucosa var.heidelbergensis bei einem schwerbehinderten 5jährigen Mädchen berichtet, das durch antibiotische Therapie geheilt wurde. Als Eintrittspforte der Erreger wird die entzündlich veränderte Nasen-Rachen-Schleimhaut angesehen.
