Zusammenfassung

Es wird über einen 45jährigen Mann mit multiplen Abszessen durchSalmonella typhi murium der linken Niere bei polyzystischen Nierendegenerationen beiderseits und terminaler Niereninsuffizienz berichtet. Diese Erkrankung manifestierte sich klinisch unter dem Bild einer antibakteriell nicht beherrschbaren Sepsis und linksseitiger Flankenschmerzen. Sie wurde bei dem wegen Thrombose des Chimino-Shunts mit Dicumarol behandelten Patienten von einer Hämaturie begleitet. Die Symptomatik bildete sich nach Nephrektomie zurück. Bei Fehlen von positiven Befunden im Urin, Blut, Sputum, Magensaft und Stuhl muß der Patient als geheilt angesehen werden.

Summary

A 45-year-old man with multiple abscesses caused bySalmonella typhi murium in the left kidney is presented. The patient had bilateral polycystic renal degeneration and terminal renal insufficiency. The illness manifested itself clinically as a case of septicaemia which did not respond to antibiotic treatment, and pain in the left flank. There was concomitant haematuria. The patient was treated with dicumarol for thrombosis of the Chimino shunt. The symptoms receded following nephrectomy. The patient is to be considered cured in the absence of positive findings in the urine, blood, sputum, gastric juices or faeces.
