Summary

Microphotometric estimations of the hemoglobin content and the projection area of an erythrocyte can give an indication about the age of that erythrocyte.

Erythrocytes with a high hemoglobin content are the first to be eliminated as they age.

Zusammenfassung

Mikrophotometrische Bestimmung des Hämoglobin- und des Areal-Gehaltes eines Erythrozyten gibt einen Anhalt über das Alter dieses Erythrozyten. Erythrozyten mit einem hohen Hämoglobingehalt werden am ersten phagozytiert, wenn sie altern.
