Summary

The author describes a method of quantitative hemagglutination. The method is based on the colorimetric determination of hemolysis of a testerythrocyte-stream of known concentration, into which, amongst others, serum samples are pumped. If antibodies are present in the sera, agglutinates form. These, due to their higher gravity at decanter-T-pieces, precipitate out of the system and are pumped out at the same time. Extinction is decreased by this quantity. The extinction difference is directly proportional to the antibody content. This method is used for the testing of the effect of radiation protection-substances on the cell system of irradiated mammals which forms specific antibodies.
