Optical crystallographic properties of organic compounds

IV. 2-Phenyl-1,2,3,2H-triazol-4-ylcarbinol and its oxidation products

  • Published:
Microchimica Acta Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The optical crystallographic properties of three triazoles, formulas (I), (II), and (III), have been determined. The aldehyde (II) shows very large positive birefringence. The optical properties are sufficiently different to be useful for positive identification of the compounds. The behavior of the compounds on the micro hot stage was examined and the micro melting points are recorded.
