A note on rational approximations of transcendental functions

Zusammenfassung

Es wird gezeigt, wie man mit einfachen Mitteln rationale Näherungsfunktionen zur Annäherung von speziellen Funktionen erzeugen kann. Diese werden zur Inversion der Laplace-Transformationen bei einem Problem der Fortpflanzung von Spannungswellen benutzt. Die Ergebnisse der Näherungen werden mit anderen Näherungsmethoden und mit der exakten Lösung verglichen.
