Summary

A simplified proof is given of the Hanin-Reiner formula for the Hencky measure of deformation, and the integrals of this formula are calculated. In the second part the author shows that, for the particular case of simple shear flow, the rate of the Hencky measure is not suitable for the description of the rate of deformation.
