Abstract
The concept of limit angle of inelastic scattering is introduced and discussed in terms of classical mechanics. The limit angle is derived on the basis of the energy and momentum conservation laws, holding the inelastic scattering for the limit case of the central-field motion. It is evaluated for the potential of the formV(r) ∼ 1/r n, n=1; 2. The term “collision of two absolutely rigid spheres” is defined.
