Two-dimensional model of electrode radiative heating in rail plasma accelerator

Abstract

Electrode damage due to radiative heating of a plasma cluster moving in a rail plasma accelerator is treated in this paper. A two-dimensional heat conduction equation is used for a description of this phenomenon. A numerical solution is given for various situations in the accelerator.
