Abstract
A general expression for the energy of formation of a single vacancyE F in substitutional binary alloys having two types of lattice sites is derived, which takes into account the interaction of neighbouring atoms. It is shown, that near the Curie temperature Θ the formation energy exhibits an anomaly.
