Two-dimensional steady MHD flows in a nearly hyperbolic magnetic field

Abstract

A solution for two-dimensional steady MHD flows in a nearly hyperbolic magnetic field is given. This solution exhibits the existence of a rectangular hyperbolic flow in the resistive region near the magnetic neutral point and is confirmed by recent laboratory experiments.
