Dimensional continuation and the twoλφ 4)4 theories

Abstract

The Gaussian effective potential for (λφ4)4 theory indicates that two distinct, non-trivial, theories may exist. In the context of dimensional regularization these can be understood as thed→4 limits of two separate theories inhabitingd≧4 andd≦4 dimensions, respectively.
