A note on information and efficiency in thermodynamics

Abstract

In this note, consistent with the formulation of statistical thermodynamics from a purely statistical consideration, a definition for the efficiency of a thermodynamic system has been introduced and its full significance including its relation with Carnot's efficiency in classical thermodynamics has been studied.
