Abstract
A new corpuscular diagnostic method for a hollow cathode discharge is described and the experimental results are presented. At the discharge pressure of 10 Pa of argon gas, the energy spectrum of the ions being extracted through a capillary opening shows a marked anisotropy. The mass spectral measurements yield results differing by two orders of magnitude from the expected ones.
