Coriolis coupling and electromagnetic properties of rotational bands in odd-a Yb nuclei

III. The nucleus171Yb

Abstract

Properties of the rotational bands in171Yb have been studied using the semi-microscopic quasiparticle-phonon model with a Coriolis interaction included. The energy and structure of individual levels, reduced E 2 and M 1 transition probabilities and E 2/M 1 mixing ratios have been calculated and compared with the experimental results. In calculation ten odd- and seven even-parity intrinsic states have been included. It has been found that the model gives a very satisfactory description of the energy spectrum up to high spin values as well as the transition probabilities and mixing ratios.
