Influence of disorder on the magnetic properties of ferrites with spinel structure: Application to magnetite

  • Published:
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics B Aims and scope

Abstract

Néel's molecular field theory of ferrimagnetism is modified so as to take into account disorder in cation distribution over sublattices. The theory proposed leads to closer agreement of the temperature dependence of magnetization with experiment. A numerical example for magnetite is given.
