Abstract
The screw dislocation core structure in bcc metals under an external shear stress is investigated using the model of generalized splitting as an approximation of the Peierls-Nabarro model of screw dislocation dissociated on three {110} slip planes. The shear stress for which the core structure in this model is unstable is found.
