Abstract
The dispersion relation of surface waves propagating on a homogeneous Maxwellian plasma column with sharp boundary and surrounded by dielectric and vacuum is investigated in the low-frequency domain. The thermal motion of ions is also taken into account. The spectra and damping rates both of short and longwavelength surface modes in thick and thin columns are obtained.
