On higher eigenvalues of the extended Graetz problem

Summary

We consider the problem of heat transfer in laminar flow between two parallel walls. Turning-point approximations to the eigenfunctions and approximations to the characteristic equation are derived. Finally, the higher eigenvalues are obtained for all values of a type of Nusselt number.

Résumé

On considère le problème du transfert de la chaleur dans un fluide qui s'écoule laminairement entre deux plans parallèles. Il y a une dérivation des approximations aux fonctions caractéristiques valide dans la région d'un point de transition et aussi une dérivation de l'équation caractéristique. Enfin on obtient les valeurs caractéristique plus grand pour tous valeurs d'une espèce de nombre de Nusselt.
