Summary

We consider a surface generated by an ellipse and it is shown that any ray of light, which issues from a determined point situated on a plane of symmetry of the figure, is reflected parallelly to this plane and cuts perpendicularly a chord of the surface.

By limiting the surface to its upper part, a rectilinear segment is lit with the help of a punctual source.
