Summary

In this paper a study has been made of a discontinuous boundary-value problem. A circular disc made of homogeneous isotropic elastic matcrial is in a state of generalized plane stress. The boundary of the disc is divided into two parts. Over one part the stresses are zero; over the other the shear stress is zero and the normal displacement is specified. The problem has been solved after converting it into aPrandtl-type integral equation.
