Determination of the plasma cluster mass in the rail accelerator

  • Published:
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics B Aims and scope

Abstract

Calculations of the plasma cluster mass when changing discharge voltage and capacity of the capacitor battery were performed. The plasma cluster mass is calculated on the basis of experimentally determined dependence of the plasma cluster path on time. Due to these results it is possible to justify the application of the “snow-plough” model to this type of the plasma accelerator.

Additional information

The calculated plasma cluster masses are very important physical quantities required for considerations of plasma cluster acceleration in a rail accelerator due to the internal magnetic field.
