Abstract
The crystals of cytosine monohydrate C4H5N3O.H2O with dimensions of 10–20 mm were grown from aqueous solution using a technique of lowering the temperature (35–20 °C). The paper brings a description of the growth apparatus and related techniques, the preparation of seeds, the influence of pH on the crystal habitus, and the morphology of crystals. Measurements of current-voltage characteristic, current relaxation and the spectral dependence of the photocurrent in the 4·0–6·0 eV range were performed at room temperature.
