Abstract
In a representative number of more or less QCD-motivated\(Q\bar Q\) potentials the simultaneousV' i (r)=V i (r)−V i (r 0 ),m' Qi =m Qi +1/2V i (r 0) (i-model index) introduce approximately equal constituent quark massesm' Qi ≅m Q (Q=b, c) for all considered models. Arguments are given forr 0=0.5±0.05 fm which yieldsm c =1.50±0.07 GeV andm b =4.90±0.05 GeV. The known model independence ofm bi -m ci is explained and the influence of the transformation on data reproduction is studied.
