Summary
A set of three integral equations for the components of the relative displacement vector are used to describe the flutter oscillations of an aircraft. Two methods for the approximate solution are presented, one making use of the eigenvectorfunctions and eigenvalues of the problem without airforces, the other beingRauscher's method of stationfunctions in a slightly generalised form. Then numerical methods for finding the zeros of the flutterdeterminants are given. The paper is concluded by a short description of actual numerical computations on automatic computing machines.
