Conclusions

These committees are an aid to the administration for the following reasons:

They conduct special investigations and render reports to the superintendent.

Decisions are made only after discussion by the various heads of departments, thus the advantage or disadvantage to each department is considered before any order is issued.

These committees have brought about cooperation and coordination between the steward's department and the medical department. They have been of real assistance to the steward in preparing his estimates.

These committees meet at regular intervals. They are dynamic and constant attention is being given to the problem of improving hospital administration.

In these days when economy is stressed, these committees render valuable assistance to the superintendent and the steward in the spheres of administration and economy.
