A new linear drive is considered. It is possible to position in the micrometer- and submicrometer-range. The drive is based on the rectilinear screw-thread motor (Helicalmotor). It is supplied by three-phase sine-voltage. The voltage consists of voltage increments. For this an inverter for 250 kHz is necessary. A step resolution of 15 nm and a accuracy for positioning of 100 nm is achievable.
