Abstract

The present paper provides a brief review of the medical and psychoanalytic literature concerning the etiology and treatment of insomnia, a highlight of recent sleep EEG research achievements, and a discussion of current research objectives and the manner in which they may contribute to a more rational approach toward treatment of sleep disorders.
