The electromagnetic field of a horizontal transmission line above the earth with earth return grounded at its end is calculated on sinusoidal current. Approximate, however in the whole range of frequency sufficiently accurate explicit formulae are given for the electric field strength components. The model is appropriate for calculating self, — and mutual impedances of arrangements consisting of horizontal and vertical straight lines.
