Japanese B encephalitis

Symptom dynamics in an organic psychosis

  • Published:
Psychiatric Quarterly Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Conclusions

The discussion of the patient's symptoms represents an attempt by the authors to demonstrate the richness of information about the patient as a total man contained in these symptoms. It is suggested that each individual manifesting psychotic illness will be found to have his own specific and unique constellation of symptoms—both with content and without. To interpret symptoms purely in terms of organic or psychologic phenomena is to limit needlessly the scope of scientific understanding. It is also a violation of the reality of the human experience.
