Conclusion
Twenty-five schizophrenic patients were less able to decide whether an investigator was looking into their eyes than a group of 30 nonschizophrenic subjects. This supports the authors' hypothesis that certain schizophrenic symptoms may be the result of defects in perception caused by a biochemical abnormality.
