CP-violating effects inZ decays to τ leptons

Abstract

We calculate CP-odd correlations inZ decays to τ leptons,$Z \to \tau \bar \tau$. These correlations are sensitive to the weak dipole moment$\tilde d_\tau$ of the τ. With 10⁷ producedZ particles and with observation of the τ decay channels$\tau \to \ell \bar v_l v_\tau (\ell = e,\mu ),\tau \to \pi v_\tau$ and τ→ρv _τ we estimate that$\tilde d_\tau$ can be determined with an accuracy of about$\delta \tilde d_\tau = 3 \times 10^{ - 18} ecm$ (1 s.d.).
