Abstract

“The concept of the right to adequate treatment, as originally proposed, applies to patients who are involuntarily hospitalized. It must now be extended to include those patients who are involuntarilycommunitized. They do exist, and thier needs for comprehensive services are very real, particularly since they are expected to function in the community”.
