Parameters in the electroweak theory

III. Masses of the top quark and the Higgs boson

Abstract

From theeeH coupling in the electroweak theory, it is found that the one-loop correction is finite (i.e., not logarithmically divergent) when a certain quadratic mass relation is satisfied. When this relation is used together with the one given previously, and the lepton masses are neglected compared with those of theW and theZ, it is found that

$$m_H^2 = 9m_Z^2 - 6m_W^2 $$
