In questa breve nota si mostra come l'insorgere di una possibile biforcazione sotto forma di banda di taglio in un campione omogeneo, uniformemente sollecitato, possa essere vista come una condizione di parabolicità di un'equazione differenziale del quarto ordine.
Summary
This short note shows that a possible bifurcation of the response of a homogeneous sample as a shear band inception may be seen as a condition of parabolicity of a fourth order differential equation.
