Abstract
Asymmetric polyfluorinated ketones RFCOR are formed by treating various derivatives of (polyfluoro)alkanoic acids (esters, anhydrides, acid chlorides) with lithium tetraalkylaluminates (“ate-complexes”). The highest yields of the ketones (65–78 %) were obtained from (polyfluoro)alkanoyl chlorides.
